Note your teacher’s comments and feedback on your first draft. Revise content as necessary.

 

 

•  Check each paragraph to be sure they start with a transitional word or sentence to bridge the previous idea with the next. The rest of the paragraph should be facts that support this topic sentence.

 

 

•  Vary the patterns of your writing. Use transitional words and phrases to add smoothness and coherence.

 

 

•  Now it’s time to check your grammar and mechanics.

 

 

•  Use spell check and grammar check.

 

 

•  Read it aloud to yourself or a friendly listener.

 

 

•  Let a friend or family member read it and give suggestions.
